Comments to your Bird-o-Pet drawing:
1. What material is [good for] making up the bottom of the carrier? Easy to clean is best. They poop constantly.
2. When the carrier is all closed up, is the interior completely dark? Darkness calms birds.
3. With so much area done in the mesh. I'm very concerned about the strength of the mesh and the ability to repair as needed.
4. Are the perches removeable for easy cleaning?
Since we are in need of a carrier now, I think I am going to purchase one of your pak-o-pet carriers with the old tray while you work on this new design. I like the look of those carriers, but will anxiously wait to see the new designs.
Pet stores thought I was crazy to want to bring my quaker parrot "Chicken" with me on errands and Celltei was the first well-designed, good-looking back-pack for pets.

1. There is a detachable and removable tray made of waterproof fabric that is used for a water bowl, however, hmmm...I did have a parrot that could talk when I was little (gee, things escape the mind)... I remember Lai-fook's feet got dirty as it walked on its own poop, any suggestion in avoiding this situation?
2. Yes, one of the pictures shows a rolled up flap (pls see our current line Pak-o-Pet on www.Celltei.com that can cover the entire front. However, I am thinking of using a sky blue color with a grey tone for the interior wall lining to make the bird think that it is the sky. Must it be black?
3. It is a concern. As the intended mesh quality/strength will be similar to the mesh used in our current Tote/Pet-on-the-Go, can we send you one of our current products to test out before we make the bird carrier? There may need to be an aluminum sheet padded inside the side window webbing and other wiring along the front window. We will test it out. The bird may not weigh that much, but with the perch, water cup, and seed cup, it can be heavy.
4. It is removeable by unscrewing the end screws.
Hey, Mary, you are not the only one. Also, our home page is showing a fish - yes, my goal is to make a humane fish carrier and that will be time I can retire!

I hope the interior is also washable. Chicken can aim and poop.
I'm sure this would affect cost, but the way bird cages work they have a removeable wire bottom (removable for cleaning) and a removable tray underneath. It slides out. The poop goes right to the bottom to the tray. I'm not sure how you would engineer that. That would, of course, be ideal. Most birds I believe would stay on their perches while moving because they can hold onto them, thereby eliminating the need for wire bottom. |
